Adoption involves tedious procedures which take lengthy duration and is not as easy as it seems. Not everyone can adopt, as there is a list of criteria which must be fulfilled.

Application Criteria

  • At least married for 5 years
  • Combined salary not less than RM5,000-00 per month
  • One of the spouse must be a Malaysian
  • Reside and work in Peninsular Malaysia (Sabah and Sarawak each has different governing laws in regards to adoption criteria and procedures)

Application Time Frame

  • 6 to 9 months

Documents Required

Child

  • Original Birth Certificate
  • Original Identification Card
  • Original Medical Report

Natural Parent

  • Copy of Identification Card

Adoptive Parent

  • Copy of Identification Card
  • Copy Marriage Certificate
