Adoption

Foreign Marriage
Copy of Identification Card (Malaysian) / Passport (Foreigner), with a photocopy of the page containing personal information and the date of arrival in Malaysia

Citizenship
A Malaysian citizenship can be obtained either by registration or by naturalization. Bear in mind that no dual citizenship is allowed, therefore one must forgo the prior nationality.

Spouse of Malaysian citizen can apply for Permanent Residence (PR) after five (5) years of successful marriage.

The Employment Pass is issued to a foreigner who enters into Malaysia to take up employment for a minimum of two (2) years, after the applicant has obtained the approval for expatriate post from the relevant authorized agencies.

A Malaysian who wishes to marry a foreigner has to obtain a “Certificate of Single Status” from Malaysia prior registering the marriage in another country.
